Day 03: Onto Vik area. Enroute drive along the scenic South shore of beautiful Iceland

Today, drive along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as the Vík area, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs. South Iceland is special for it is one of the flattest regions on the island. Because of that, most of all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest winds from the north. We will stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be dangerous (guests are requested not to go too close to the ocean and go by guidelines only). Among the stops on this tour are at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it (walk behind the falls can be done on your own, recommend guests to carry either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind the fall).

Overnight in Vik area. (Breakfast/Local Dinner)

Day 04: Visit Iceland’s largest glacier - Vatnajokull National Park – including Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón Glacier.

Today, proceed to Vatnajokull National Park - Iceland’s largest glacier and witness plenty of its outlet glaciers cascading to the lowland. Skaftafell is a nature reserve located in Vatnajökull National Park in the South East of Iceland. It is an oasis of this nation’s diverse landscapes and features, so beautiful it was once a national park in its own right. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon belongs to the Vatnajökull glacier. Huge blocks of ice (more than 1,000 years old) are continually breaking from it and large chunks of iceberg float in the lagoon. The ice-chunks take on so many forms and colours, ranging from transparent, to white, to the most amazing blue colour - some of the ice is black, it is like visiting an art gallery.

Overnight in Vik. (Breakfast/Local Dinner)

Day 05: Onto Reykjavik … Get mesmerized with the Tour of the Golden Circle – visit Þingvellir National Park, Geyser hot springs and Gullfoss waterfall.

Today, visit three of Iceland’s most famous spots: Þingvellir National Park, Geyser hot springs and Gullfoss waterfall. Start the day at the ancient Viking Parliament area of Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site. The Þingvellir plain is situated on a tectonic-plate boundary where North America and Europe are slowly tearing away from each other. Next stop is at the Geysir geothermal fields with a variety of hot springs and bubbling pools. Gullfoss, “the golden falls”, is a double waterfall that tumbles 34 meters into the Hvítá river originating from the glacier Langjökull.

Overnight in Reykjavik. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 06: Enjoy the colours of the city on a guided tour of Reykjavik the beautiful capital of Island and get the experinece at Blue Lagoon Thermal Spa

Today morning get the highlights of the history and culture of Reykjavík, Iceland’s beautiful capital. Visit the most important places of Reykjavík, including the famous Hallgrímskirkja church, named after the 17th-century poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson. It is the highest church in Iceland at 74.5 metres high. The stops are, for example, Höfði, where the US President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev President of the Soviet Union met to end the Cold War. The guide will provide you with all the essential information regarding Reykjavík’s rich culture, history and natural environment. Rest of the day is free time to explore this beautiful city on your own. Afternoon enjoy the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Experience the tranquility of the unique Geothermal Milky Blue Sea waters, considered by many to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and an unmissable part of your Iceland Holiday. The Blue Lagoon was formed in 1976 during an operation at the nearby geothermal power plant. In the years that followed, people began to bathe in the water and apply the silica mud to their skin. It’s known for its restorative qualities and health benefits. The Blue Lagoon is surrounded by a mossy lava field, offering incredible scenery, with state-of-the-art facilities and an other-worldly atmosphere
